1. Our commitment
NalieTech Schools serves primary and secondary schools, which means most data subjects on the platform are children. Their safety is non-negotiable and overrides every other product consideration.
2. Zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind.
- Grooming, sexual solicitation, or sexualised contact with a minor.
- Bullying, harassment, threats or intimidation targeting a learner.
- Sharing a learner's identifying information, photo, location or biometrics outside the school's safeguarding policy.
- Discriminatory content based on race, tribe, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation.
Any breach triggers immediate account suspension, preservation of evidence, notification to the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead, and — where the law requires — a report to the Zimbabwe Republic Police Victim Friendly Unit and the Department of Social Development.
3. Privacy by design for minors
- Learner records are accessible only to staff with a documented need (least privilege, enforced by row-level security).
- Parents see only their own children.
- Biometric templates are encrypted, never exported, and deleted within 90 days of a learner leaving the school.
- AI features never use learner data to train third-party models.
- Bulk-messaging templates are reviewed for tone and inclusivity before they can be sent to parents.
4. Staff vetting
Schools are responsible for ensuring users granted staff-level access have appropriate safeguarding clearance under Zimbabwean law. NalieTech provides role-based access controls, mandatory 2FA for grade-edit rights, and tamper-evident audit logs to make accountability possible.
5. Reporting a concern
If you are a learner, parent, staff member or member of the public and you believe a child is at risk on or via this platform:
- If the child is in immediate danger, call the ZRP Victim Friendly Unit on (+263) 242 703631 or your nearest police station.
- Notify the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Email NalieTech at tichremias@nalietech.com with subject line "Child Safeguarding". We treat these reports as the highest priority and acknowledge within 24 hours.
You will not be penalised for reporting in good faith, even if the report turns out to be unfounded.
6. Cooperation with authorities
We cooperate fully with the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the Department of Social Development, POTRAZ and equivalent foreign authorities investigating offences against children. We preserve evidence (audit logs, message content, metadata) on lawful request.
7. Continuous review
This policy is reviewed annually, or sooner if law or our risk profile changes.
